Apparently I lost my mind and Jason took full advantage of it. This little man will be joining our house in a couple weeks. He is from the Abby/Carbon litter. Formally known as Mr. T, his new name is Emmett. BTW- did not come from Twilight, it was the runner up name for Liam when we picked him out. Liam fit him better and this name went on the back burner). Still working on the registered name- Emmett means strength, universal and all containing. Hmmm will ponder that. Any suggestions?

Don’t you just love the colors! Perfect for fall.

Felt like doing a little housekeeping and airing of dirty laundry. Started a new page. See the top of the right hand column. I am going to promise to write. I want to write about good times and bad. I want to laugh. Most of all I want to motivate myself. Hope you enjoy the ride!  😉

Don’t know too much but got a quick call from Jason. Polly took the 4pt major by going Winner’s Bitch and Best of Opposite. That means she has her two majors and only needs 5 singles.

Karis also won her class and took Best Puppy. Apparently she got reserve something too (unsure of official but I would think Reserve Winner’s Bitch). I will clarify when Jason gets home. He was trying to pack up the trailer so it was just a quick call.

Good things always seem to happen for us on the last day of a show. Congrats Jason and girls. Hope a safe drive home for them. Now he just needs to be nice when he gets home at 1am.

I think the girls are gonna be super happy when they get back from Idaho. Meanwhile Liam is living the life. He got to choose which one he wanted. Spoiled brat.

Don’t know that we were in the market for an additional grooming table but it was an offer you couldn’t pass on.

Brand new, in the box with the plastic wrap still on it. Grooming arm included. Online sells for $129.99. We paid $40. Sweet!

So the post is a couple of days late. Still trying to recover! I always forget how much it takes out of you and the dogs when we stay out-of-town and even more since this was a 3 day show with REALLY long ring side times. Like 3+ hours every day! Glad I took a chair to ring side.

The show was a bust when it came to our crazy bunch. We did manage to get Polly to change from sloth speed to turtle speed. According to Mark she now has a theme song. She will always “Fly Like a Turtle.” Still trying to figure out what the judges saw in the dogs they picked. I guess I will always ponder that one.

Had a great time just sitting around shooting the breeze. I still can’t get over the fact that last year when we attended this show we didn’t know ANYONE, well besides Liam’s breeders, Kim and Leo. I remember being introduced to Kim and Mark and then turning around and seeing the whole Cardigan campground area. I was blown away by how many people there were. At that time I wasn’t reading blogs either. So this year to go back and know so many people (maybe really not know them but blog know them) was very odd. Jason also had a whole bunch of people he knew from the trip to Idaho last year. I felt like I might have actually belonged this year, whereas last year I felt like an intruder. I can only thank those people close to us for that feeling (Kim & Leo, Kim & Mark, Nancy, Paul, Denise, and so many more). Still not quite believing it.

Couple lovely pictures taken by Kim and Mark of the kids throughout the weekend. Enjoy!

Saturday- nada. I showed Karis. Wasn’t perfect but we both made it around the ring and didn’t trip eachother. All I asked for.

Sunday- once again nada in the points category but a big plus for Liam. Under breeder judge Paul Chen Liam got Best of Opposites. The judge looked at him really hard and said he almost gave him breed! Wow! All because he was wonderfully handled by Mark Thorson with Samhain. In winning best opposite he beat out #3 Cardigan, Slick, handled by Bill Mcfadden. A big accomplishment for the blue dog. Congrats dude.

Saturday- nada

Sunday- Polly got Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite for another point.

And the best news of all I showed Polly in the breed ring and actually did a good job! I didn’t panic and enjoyed myself. I just won’t show Liam anymore. I don’t trust him and that conveys down the leash too much.

Next show Gig Harbor, Karis’ debut with me as her full time handler. Should be fun, can’t wait for the indoor show season to really start. Don’t like outdoor shows too much. Polly agrees.

We have reached the climax (no pun intended). All he does is whine, pant and bark. It is really pathetic. Thanks to melted butter he is still eating. And of course Polly is cool as a cucumber. Probably cause she is leashed to the couch. She does her best to flaunt her stuff when she is free. It is sick really.

Polly got dumped. Liam went Best of Breed. Did okay in the group. He had fun and that is what counts. Him and dad looked good out there.

Found this one the web today when looking up funny corgi pictures. I have seen and felt this many times at our house. Too cute!

Karis has decided that broccoli stems make a great chew toy. Probably gonna pay later since she sleeps next to my head. And we starved Liam so much (or at least that is what he will tell you) that he was eating broccoli too.

Polly went Winner’s Bitch and Best of Opposite for 1 point! Up to 5 now. She shows great when she is coming into heat.

Liam showed good for Mark. I have never seen either of them move that fast. Too bad Liam was too interested in Ms. Polly to care of about the judge.

Nothing big happened this weekend. Big entry which is nice to see. Next weekend is the Melting Pot for dinner on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary then an early morning drive for the Sammamish show.

3 years married today, 11 years since our first date this month. Gotta love Craigslist. This tub sells for 7k brand new. We bought for $1700. It is in awesome condition.

That is a nice leash burn on my shin curiosity of Liam’s flexie. Hurts like a b*tch. Worse then that Polly keeps trying to do her mommy thing and lick it clean.

** Pardon the need to shave, we are camping and the beach and it just ain’t gonna happen!

Please ignore the background of the photos. The patio is a mess and Jason was doing yard work.

On to the regular scheduled show… I was sitting in the backyard watching the dogs play and Polly had enough of Liam and Karis. She pulled a chair right next to me to relax. Oh what a princess.

Then I went out front to show Jason the picture. I was a little shocked when I opened the door and found my ankle tall dog at waist height. She jumped up on the bench and then the table. Goofy dog. At least she stayed and didn’t bail when I gasped.

Last pic is Karis who has decided the pool isn’t such a bad thing, just don’t put her in it. Just like any kids she’s gotta do it on her own!

Karis is soo teething right now. She has no canine teeth at all and has lost 3 molars. We had to soak her kibble tonight so she could actually eat it. I feel so bad for her. Dad gave her one of the biscuits the Raglan crew sent and she just stared at it. You could tell she wanted to eat it but it was just too much. Growing up just sucks!

I got a Droid Incredible a little while ago and still am amazed at the things this phone can do. I was wondering about an app for WordPress to make it easier to update the blog and apparently I have an app for that! 🙂

So I am gonna try my best to keep this blog up to date! But I am not making promises to daily updates.

PS- still looking for another family who wants in on the paw it forward.

The fur kids received a nice care package from Amy and the Raglan bunch (http://raglancardigans.blogspot.com/). Of course every corgi loves food. And well the blue pig will have to be saved for a time when there is only one of them cause it will cause mass havoc when there is 3 of them. The treats arrived at a great time. I had just ran out of crate treats. Thanks again!!!

So if 2 families would like to receive a gift from the 3 crazy cardigans who live here, just drop me a line and I will send something along.

So much has gone on in this house since I posted last.

I graduated from LPN school with a program 4.0. It was a HORRIBLE year but it is over! Then I accepted a job that doesn’t even use that title. But it is 2 miles away from my house and I start at 8:30am!!! It is going to be so nice! I will look into getting my RN without having to work as a LPN, it will all work out.

We have taken in a lovely girl with the sweetest temperment. Ms. Polly is 2.5 years old and from Texas. She is a true southern girl and will make her show debut at Canby (hopefully!). It has been a bumpy rode since she got here but we are working through it every day. We got the quick course in female dogs, she went into heat 1 week after she arrived at our home. We have finished that and she is back to her normal couch potato self!

We also have a new puppy! Crazy huh? Ms. Karis will be 12 weeks on Monday and growing like a weed! She is a ball of energy but Liam is so happy to have a playmate. They just play non-stop and Karis usually wins! She is a lovely little girl and we are so excited to see her all grown up in the ring.

Karis chilling in the grass

Karis after her first bath!

Karis says "Man, I stole all these from Liam and Polly, now I really tired!"

Liam and Jason are still doing their thing… not much to report there.

Liam and his Mini Me!

Liam says, "Life around here has been a hoot!"

Well, that is my update! Have a great day!

Well, I guess it has been a while since we posted but not much going on here! Jason’s working, I’m working and going to school (spending way too much time in nursing homes for my liking!) and Liam is just being Liam. Next weekend is the show in Albany. Only 4 CHs total so we might have a shot at something! Crossing our fingers, toes and paws!

WARNING: LONG POST!!!

So we went to Seattle this past weekend for a friend’s holiday party. We left town after the Vancouver show and headed north. We stayed at the Hotel Vintage Plaza (a Kimpton hotel) because Jason got a work discount. If you know Kimpton hotels they are notoriously pet friendly, most have a resident dog. So we thought everything was dialed.

Checked in, took a nap and got ready. Left Liam in his crate in the room watching MythBusters (figured it was better than animal planet). First trip out of the room he started barking as soon as the door hit the latch. Waited a couple mintues and the barking continued. Jason went in and told him to be quiet and that we would be back later. Door closed and silence. Hung around for a couple more minutes and the silence continues. At this point I jinx everything by saying “Well that seems too easy.”

On to the party and fun times ensue. About 1.5 hours later happen to sit at the chair in which my jacket is hanging and hear my phone ringing. By the time I figure which pocket it is in the ringing has stopped but I have a voicemail. I listen to the voicemail and the front desk clerk at the hotel says “I am looking for Mr. Hertz and I need him to return to the hotel immediatley and deal with his dog who we have recieved several noise complaints about.” They have been calling every 2-5 minutes for the last 30 minutes!!! I call them and let them know I was on my way- Jason had been drinking so no driving for him. Lucklily we we’re only a couple blocks away.

I pull into the valet area and tell the valet guy that I will be right back I just have to go get my dog. he says “Oh, the corgi?” I knew this was not a good sign. I went to the front desk and who is behind being their helper? Liam! He was such a noisy bugger that they had to remove him from the room and hold him at the front desk. Wow, was I embarressed. Then Liam proceeds to try and jump over the belly button height counter to get to me. Once again embarressed. I had to run upstairs to get his crate from the room so he can hang out in my car for the remainder of the party. I get back downstairs and the front desk informs me they couldn’t find his collar (his show collar was on the bed next to his crate) and that they fashioned his show lead to the end of the flexi to get him downstairs. Wow, that must have been an interesting walk!

So Liam got to hang out in the underground parking garage next to the loud blower fan for a couple hours. I joined him in the car around 12:30am for a nap. Then Jason joined and we headed back to the hotel around 2:30am.  I swear every year this holiday party gets a story! Last year we did the Vancouver show, drove to Seattle and drove back down for the Sunday show. That was a tiring weekend!

Took a stop at Pike Place Market to get the best fresh-dried pasta and all is good now that we are back in town. Liam is very tired from eventful weekend. He actually let us wrap him in a fleece blanket and he slept for like 45 minutes. Sweet sleeping corgis make you forgot what they put you through!

I am thankful that I made it thru the day with only 1 heated family discussion. All ended well and no ones feelings got hurt.

Jason is thankful that he can work on his own truck and doesn’t have to pay the $1500 to have it done, only the $350 in parts.

Liam is thankful for the Halloween toy he got to de-stuff this morning and that tomorrow all of the Thanksgiving toys at PetsMart are going to be 50% off.

Hope everyone had a great day and is at home relaxing but didn’t suffer a Turkey tryptophan overload! Wishing you a good nights sleep! (as Liam demonstrates)

Here’s the pic from Salem. He got 2 of the 3 points needed on Saturday under Judge Lowell K Davis. Then 2 more points on Sunday under Dr. Roger S Pritchard to finish. I looked on the AKC website and he’s officially a champion. Wahooo!

The funny thing about this pic is that it looks so good but it was mass pandemonium to take. We waited around for 3 hours to take the pic cause the judge was running behing. Then there was a huge crowd since it was blocking traffic and Liam wouldn’t stand for anything. The judge was fixing his feet and Liam kept lunging after the toys. Gotta thank Randy of Roberts Photo, he always seems to get a good pic.

Well, I did it. We’ll see how the world of blogging actually goes. A little explanation on the blog title: Tylwyth Anhrefn is Welsh for Family of Chaos. I thought it was fitting for how crazy our schedules are. So hopefully I learn this whole blog thing and it is interesting enough for people to follow.

Liam says “Hello, nice to meet you!”
